Mendenhall juvenile killed in wreck on Natchez Trace | News

NATCHEZ TRACE PARKWAY, MS (WLBT) - A juvenile was killed and another injured in a single-vehicle accident on the Natchez Trace Parkway Wednesday night.

According to Natchez Trace Parkway officials, two juveniles from Mendenhall were traveling southbound on the Parkway near milepost 56 in Claiborne County, when their sedan veered from the road.

One of the occupants was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other was flown to University Medical Center in Jackson.

Parkway officials said in a news release “high speed is suspected, although the cause of the accident remains under investigation.”

U.S. Park Rangers, Claiborne County Sheriff Office Deputies, Emergency Medical, and Fire Rescue Units, along with the Claiborne County Coroner, responded to the scene.
