2 killed while changing tire on Highway 49 | News
SIMPSON COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - Two families are mourning the loss of a Good Samaritan and the woman he was trying to help.
Mississippi Highway Patrol authorities say 23-year-old Christopher Walker of Mendenhall was helping change a tire for 23-year-old Chrishonda Lyles of Collins on Highway 49 early Sunday morning near Sanatorium.
Highway patrol spokesman Odis Easterling says both were killed when they were hit by a passing car.
Several passengers in Lyles' car were injured.
The other car stopped after the accident. No charges have been filed against the driver.
