Graduation week at Co-Lin

Graduation week at Co-Lin

It's graduation week at Copiah-Lincoln Community College. A Ceremony will be held on the Wesson Campus Friday morning, May 10, at 9:30 at H. L. Stone Stadium.

If there's bad weather, the ceremony will be moved inside Mullen Gym.

The Natchez campus will hold its graduation later in the day, at 6:30. The Simpson County Center will hold graduation Saturday, May 11, at 10 a.m.

Simpson County Schools to hold job fair

The Simpson County School District will host a job fair Saturday, May 4, 2013 at the District Administrative Offices at 111 Education Lane in Mendenhall.

If you're interested in a job for the 2013-2014 school year, stop by the Job Fair between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Free immunizations at county health departments April 22-26

In recognition of National Infant Immunization Week, the Mississippi State Department of Health is offering free routine immunizations for infants and children through 18 years of age at all county health departments the week of April 22-26.

Vaccinations in this promotion include protection for infants, children and adolescents against the following diseases:

Herman Duckworth, Plant Superintendent for SEMPRA’s Mississippi Hub, LLC., a gas storage facility in Magee, MS, presented a check for $15,000 to Superintendent Glenn Harris of the Simpson County School District. The funds will be used to support technology in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) classes taught at Magee High School and the Simpson County Technical Center. The No. 19-ranked Pearl River Wildcats avenged an earlier loss by defeating the Co-Lin Wolves 77-62 in the final game of the regular season. Simpson Co. student named Wheelchair Fencing Male Athlete of the Year

Simpson Co. student named Wheelchair Fencing Male Athlete of the Year

Simpson County Technical Center student Josh Russell was recently named the Wheelchair Fencing Male Athlete of the Year.

According to the Simpson County School District Russell won a bronze medal in the Epee Event and a gold medal in the Foil Event at the Mississippi Wheelchair Fencing Games. He is currently a second year Polymer Science student.

Mendenhall student places first in polymer science competition

Mendenhall student places first in polymer science competition

Simpson County Technical Center student Marc Rowell placed first for an essay he wrote recently for the polymer science competition held at the University of South Mississippi.

According to the Simson County School District Rowell received a $500 scholarship to USM.
