The Simpson County School District will host a job fair Saturday, May 4, 2013 at the District Administrative Offices at 111 Education Lane in Mendenhall.

Herman Duckworth, Plant Superintendent for SEMPRA’s Mississippi Hub, LLC., a gas storage facility in Magee, MS, presented a check for $15,000 to Superintendent Glenn Harris of the Simpson County School District. The funds will be used to support technology in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) classes taught at Magee High School and the Simpson County Technical Center. Simpson County Technical Center student Josh Russell was recently named the Wheelchair Fencing Male Athlete of the Year.

According to the Simpson County School District Russell won a bronze medal in the Epee Event and a gold medal in the Foil Event at the Mississippi Wheelchair Fencing Games. He is currently a second year Polymer Science student.
