Temporary lane closures on U.S. 49 | Transportation

SIMPSON COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - The Mississippi Department of Transportation announced two upcoming road closures on U.S. 49 in Simpson County today.

Beginning Monday, Aug. 8, at 10 a.m., MDOT crews will temporarily close two sections of U.S. 49 between Magee and Mendenhall to install new utility lines.

One closure will be at Richard Joiner Road on the northbound side of U.S. 49. The other closure will be on the southbound side of U.S. 49 at New Galilee Road. Each closure will last approximately 10 minutes and will allow crews to construct new utility lines across all lanes of traffic.
